  • 📌 If you want to connect wirelessly, start by installing the wireless network drivers that you put on the USB drive.

Now you need to choose your browser.

By default, Microsoft Edge is installed.

⚠️ Microsoft Edge is a good browser, it's very fast and consumes very little RAM and resources.

It's based on Chromium, which means it's compatible with Chrome extensions. I recommend it for those who want to use Google Chrome, as it's faster and lighter.

On the other hand, this browser is known to run in the background, collecting and sending data to Microsoft. (Just as Google does with Google Chrome, by the way).

If you want to use it as your main browser or keep it, you can skip to the next step: Activation

    Personally, I recommend installing Firefox, it's world-renowned and open-source.

Furthermore, it also offers extensions, an account to synchronize searches on all your devices and is available on Android, IOS, MacOS.

Here, I'll show how to install Firefox using the command prompt (which will later allow us to remove Microsoft Edge).

Finally, if you'd like to use another browser, install the one of your choice!

To get started, open Microsoft Edge. and decline all options as in these screenshots.

Once all these authorizations have been passed, go to the current KJOS documentation page to continue on PC:

    navigator07

Open Powershell and copy the command:

    navigator1

This command will install Firefox, and launch it at the end of the installation. You can close the Firefox window.

Now that Firefox is installed, it's time to uninstall Microsoft Edge and all its data and dependencies..

To do this, we're going to use Powershell again, and use an open-source tool EdgeRemover.

    Run the following commands:

    navigator8

This first command uninstalls Microsoft Edge and all its data and dependencies.

    navigator9

This second command disables automatic updates as well as Microsoft Edge reinstallation after a Windows update.

That's it for the browser, you now need to activate Windows.
